Smart home solutions provider Sensor Networks (Sensor) has announced a partnership with global heating and water heating specialist Ariston to bring smart geysers to South African consumers in 2025.

In a statement, Sensor says, the Ariston geysers will be equipped with Sensor's smart geyser device, which allows users to control and monitor their geyser's energy usage remotely through the Sensor Connect app.

The smart geyser technology aims to improve energy efficiency and reduce household energy costs. Additionally, the partnership will enable property developers to incorporate smart geyser systems into their buildings and manage them remotely.

Sensor says its smart geyser device is already used in over 12 000 South African homes. The Sensor Connect app also allows users to control other smart home appliances and functions.

“Partnering with Ariston allows us to deliver our smart technology at an unprecedented scale. The Sensor Connect app will also play a key role in assisting customers with the digital tools they need to conveniently and remotely control their energy use. ” added Mark Allewell, CEO at Sensor Networks.

Sensor’s new partner Ariston is a global company specialising in heating and water heating. The company makes various products such as water heaters, space heaters, air treatment solutions and various components and burners.

South African consumers will benefit from Ariston’s ability to deliver smart home solutions such as smart geysers.

“With Sensor Networks’ expertise in smart geyser technology, we can now expand the value of our service offering in a manner that enables consumers to make more sustainable energy choices, easily,” concludes Wayne Vertue, Country Director at Ariston.
