The Innovation City in Cape Town’s Startup of the Year Competition returns this year to recognise startups with a brilliant product or service in any tech sector or innovatively solving an African problem.

This year, any startup that enters will receive exclusive benchmark data compiled in partnership with The Open Letter, offering valuable insights into the performance of other industry peers.

Submissions close COB Friday 4 April 2025, with the winner announced on 24 April at the Innovation City Awards Night Ceremony.

Last year’s winner was AI Diagnostics, a startup known for its innovative TB screening tool. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled digital stethoscopes, it enables early and cost-effective detection of tuberculosis, showcasing the transformative potential of technology in healthcare.
